How to Lose 70kg in 18 months!

Amy's Amazing Supafit Transformation!

By Coach Cam

Boy do i have an AMAZING transformation journey to share with you today to give your 2022 frsh new year a nice little inspirational kickstart!

Guys meet Amy, i use to train Amy when i was a personal trainer working out of a commercial gym before i opened up the Supafit Performance Centre. we trained on and off for while with some loses but also some re-gains, never really hitting the goals we set with lots of long holidays away and re-starting back over again each time!.

She left with me and came to Supafit when we opened our doors and continued personal training for a short while before leaving. Reaching back out to me a year or so later after having gastric sleeve surgery to resume PT and now work on her weight loss through fitness and diet, however i could no longer fit her in due to my busy business owner schedule.

Somehow i convinced her into joining up to our Supafit classes membership instead and reluctantly she agreed (Amy was never found of group training or the style of training/conditioning we did) turns out it was the best thing she could have done to not only "shake up" her training, but also form friendships, and have a whole fitness family of training buddies to keep her motivated, accountable and staying on track.

Well just a short 18 months later with her hard working attitude, commitment and consistency, have a look at her now..........!

Is that not just freakin MINDBLOWING???

Anyway, enough jibber jabber frrom me, lets have a quick chat with Amy and ask her how she did it.......

What were your goals when you started?

To be a happier, healthier and fitter version of me. To do that, I knew I had to drop serious kilos and have a completely different mindset of how I viewed exercise and food.

What changes have you seen?

Apart from the weight loss itself, I have seen so many changes within myself; more energy, better quality sleep, less stress & anxiety, the motivation to want to go to the gym and of course the vast improvements in my endurance, strength and overall fitness.

What are you most Proud Of?

Im proud of how far Ive come on this journey, not only to look back and see the transformation Ive gone through in comparison photos, but also how Ive changed mentally towards exercise. From really struggling to find the motivation to get out of bed and attend 1 or 2 classes, to today doing 11 classes over 6 days per week, continually pushing myself to the limit and setting goals I want to achieve has been quite a remarkable change.

What was your Biggest Challenge & how did you Overcome it?

I was not a morning person and in my head I had related exercise purely as a mechanism to assist with weight loss. I really had to change my mindset that exercise was not negotiable, it was something I just had to do as part of my day, just like going to work! I got my clothes ready the night before, stopped hitting snooze and just didn’t let myself have excuses as to why I couldn’t get to the gym. The other challenge was self-doubt, this was helped immensely by having the greatest of support around me, of course by wonderful family and friends, but especially my Supafit family. I honestly couldn’t have come close to achieving what I have so far without the fabulous coaches and all of my incredible fellow Supafit friends, I have been totally blessed to have these amazing people by my side every step; The support, encouragement, motivation and especially the laughs they give me daily makes the 5am alarms worth it.

What Advice would you give people just starting out?

Start with small goals. I found looking at the bigger picture seemed unobtainable and it was much easier to set smaller, bite size goals and aim for those. This could be weight loss driven, say a 5kg loss, or fitness driven like 10 burpees without stopping or doing a minimum of 3 gym classes a week – no excuses. Take time to celebrate and reflect on those goals when you reach them and then challenge yourself to create new ones continually, no matter how small or insignificant they may seem, it will all add up in the end.

Lastly, surround yourself with people who want to help you achieve your goals and continually push you to step outside your comfort zone to show you what you are truly capable of.
