The benefits of exercise on your mental health!

Coach Sam

We all know how important exercise is for keeping us physically healthy. But did you know that exercise can also help keep you mentally healthy?

Research shows that people who exercise regularly have better mental health and emotional wellbeing, and lower rates of mental illness. Regular exercise helps manage mental health conditions like depression and anxiety.

Why does exercise make us feel better mentally?

People who exercise regularly do it simply because it makes them feel good. Exercise can boost your mood, concentration and alertness. It can even help give you a positive outlook on life.

Exercise releases chemicals like endorphins and serotonin that improve your mood. It can also get you out in the world, help to reduce any feelings of loneliness and isolation, and gets you to socialise with other people.

Regular exercise can help you sleep better, getting a good night’s sleep helps you manage your mood. Exercise can improve your sense of control, coping ability and self-esteem. People who exercise regularly often say how good achieving a goal makes them feel.

There’s lots of opportunity at Supafit to mix with great people, learn new skills and achieve many goals. If you need help getting on, or back on track we would love to help you map out a clear plan to get there :)
